Collectively the team has more than 30 years of experience in SMME development, coaching, mentoring, and facilitation. The CEI team are specialist in ESD programme design, product development, assessment, and moderation for both corporates and institutions.


Abraham Oliver is the Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship & Innovation. He is passionate about youth and human capital development. He is a seasoned practitioner & facilitator in entrepreneurship, community engagement & service learning, and mentoring business advisory support.
His ambition is to expand the CEI incubation model to unlock the benefits of an integrated entrepreneurial ecosystem approach to ignite student entrepreneurship activations, develop customized entrepreneurial programs for Faculties to enhance students’ experience, strengthen both public and private ESD partnerships, and robust and replicable Fellows Program.


Wendy Mehl is the Coordinator for Enterprise and Supplier Development for the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Her formal qualifications are in Civil Engineering, Finance, and Business Management as well as Public Relations, Marketing and Project Management. Her experience is broad and varies across different Industries from media house to civils and event management and demonstrates a strong background in administration management.


Wesley Clarence is part of the CEI team and is involved in enterprise development and small business training. He has lectured business management subjects at the School of Business and Finance – UWC, CPUT, UCT, and Unisa. He is active in the design and development of the CEI training programmes.
Current research interests include all areas of entrepreneurship and business strategy within the context of empowering small businesses. As an entrepreneur, he has launched businesses in the tourism, FMCG, and wine sectors.


Rethabile Phorie has a broad background in student entrepreneurship development with experience in entrepreneurial education, digital learning, program development, and on-campus student entrepreneurship activities coordination. Her educational background is in Accounting, with a Postgraduate Diploma in Accountancy from Nelson Mandela University.
