Long Street development programme rolls out

Long St Kiosk, UWC

The Long Street kiosk is an exciting new entrepreneurship project managed by the Department of Economic Development and Tourism.

The UWC Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation is proudly assisting this amazing initiative.

The Long Street kiosk has been identified to supplement the departments business development support programme.

There are 10 trading spaces in Long Street, which were made available to the Department of Economic Development and Tourism (DEDAT) by the Department of Transport and Public Works (DTPW). The kiosk will be available to individual businesses for a maximum of 12 month periods with no rent or service charge.

The primary objective of the kiosk is to provide trading space for small business. A secondary objective is to assist to develop township-based business by providing them with a an opportunity to trade in formal surroundings of the Cape Town Central Business District.

UWC Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation will be providing mentorship and coaching to the kiosk business owners.
